Caroline made some new friends with some kids in Papa Ira's neighborhood. She was very upset we had to head home tomorrow.

After over 5 years of complaining about it (Cheryl), we finally replaced our bed. The old one was the cheapest I could find on the day a little over 8 years ago I moved to California to begin studying for their bar exam. An added benefit of the new bed - it's too high for Caroline to get into - perhaps this will end her sneaking in our room in the middle of the night, which she does nearly daily.

The training began today. Soon we will be able to stroll the mean streets of Winston without fear, as Caroline will be able to protect us.

After a week of thunderstorms in the forecast, it finally rained. Our lawn had been off-limits until the rains came and soaked in the fertilizer I spread. Tomorrow, the pool and sprinklers will be set up again in the backyard.
