Emma spent some time here this evening while her parents went to dinner and a movie. Although they were very well behaved, Cheryl and I are glad we didn't have twins.
The whole time I was pregnant, Adam hoped and prayed that we were having twins. At every appointment, he'd ask the doctor, "Are you sure there's not another one in there?" Even in the delivery room, he was disappointed when AJ came out and nothing but placenta followed him. When I asked him WHY on earth he wanted twins, he said, "It'd be perfect. Poof, instant family."
Fast forward to about a week ago. He looked at our baby, our now messy house, and the piles of laundry in various stages of being done everywhere and said, "Man, am I glad we didn't have twins."
